Bio:
I enjoy painting "En Plein Air" and believe that painting on location enables me to capture the true essence of the scene. I have artistic talents ranging from traditional skills to computer illustration and animation work. For over 10 years, I worked as a Traditional Animator for Walt Disney Feature Animation Florida. While there, I helped create several films such as: Pocahontas, Mulan, Lilo & Stitch, and Brother Bear. Working with such a diverse team of artists allowed me to develop a well rounded palette of skills including painting, drawing, and sculpting, in addition to, the hands-on creativity of motion pictures.
Artist Statement:
My goal as a Landscape Painter is to emulate the sensation of being outdoors emotionally and spiritually. In doing so, I refine my artistic skills by pushing the scale, consistency, and the overall mood of my work. I am unceasingly "chasing the light" through my plein aire (on location) paintings. I use these studies as a springboard then translate them to larger, more developed studio pieces. In my artwork, I strive for a sense of place, balance, variety, harmonious color, and solid draftsmanship.
